Lawn and Garden Tips for the Fall Months

As summer heads into fall, here is another awesome piece of gardening advice to help you make some changes that you need to make in your garden and on your lawn.

You need to feed your lawn twice in the fall – once in September and once in October – to make sure that it doesn’t starve, and you also need to be aware of the fact that you can take care of those stubborn and hard-to-kill weeds much more easily in the fall than you could have in the summer. Make sure you also feed your trees and shrubs, and rake those leaves! Whoever told you that they would protect your lawn during winter was wrong. All they’ll do is kill your grass and make it harder for the grass to come back in the winter, so make sure that you keep them off your lawn.

The same is true with pine needles. Be sure to keep cutting your lawn at the same height, as well. You don’t need to lower your mower blade for that final cut before winter.
